From the "Time’s Arrow" episode arc of TNG.

And that’s fucking Star Trek. That’s Star Trek. That’s it right there. There it is. Star Trek. Optimism and Idealism in the face of rampant bullshit. I wanna stick this up JJ’s craw and smack him with fifty DVD’s of Into Darkness.  I know, I know, this was TNG. But TOS had the same backbone of idealism.

yea, star trek is very idealistic , but i find it is so in a half arsed manner.
there is a repeating theme that the humans are here to help because they are moral and just individuals , but those tricksy aliens are always up to something. did you just say that hologram is a cardassian?! well he must be evil as fuck !  that romulen wants to make a hospital ? wait, no, shes trying to annex a moon. genetically enhanced ? get out of starfleet!

starfleets backwards and insane attitude to genetic enhancement as well as the script writing that demonizes cybernetic enhancement  reminds me that by no means is star trek a utopia.

What happens when two baroque cellists perform a cover of “Thunderstruck" by AC/DC? They shred. Literally. Keep an eye on their bows as the piece progresses.

This awesome video features Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, aka 2Cellos, playing their phenomenal “BaRock style” arrangement of the hard rock classic for a completely bewildered 17th century audience. The concept is wonderful, but the actual performance is astonishing.

ok that was seriously badass. PLAY, CROATIAN BEAUTIES, PLAY WHILE I SHIP YOU.

i love the way the sound changes as the bows gradually disintegrate, too.

that was FUCKING AWESOME.
